HD+ is the new German TV satellite service which delivers your favourite German TV channels in glorious HD (High Definition). HD+ is available exclusively on satellite TV.
The HD+ line up includes RTL HD, Sat 1 HD, ProSieben HD, VOX HD, Kabel Eins HD, RTL 2 HD, Sport 1 HD, Nickelodeon HD, Comedy Central HD, N24 HD and SIXX HD. Also available Free to Air on the Astra satellite at 19° east in High Definition are Das Erste HD, ZDF HD, Arte HD, Anixe HD, Servus TV along with over 100 Standard Definition national broadcast channels from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and across Europe.
With a selection of channels covering many genres the HD+ package will suit the interests of the whole family.
With HD+ you have no contract or monthly fees you simply pay a one off charge and enjoy HD+ for 12 months. After one year you simply buy a viewing card for the following year.
The set top box is available with an optional external hard drive recording facility, similar to the Sky Plus system. This will offer you up to 170 hours recordings without the need for messy video tapes, timers etc. Recording can be stored or deleted repeatedly as approriate.
Although you can only record or view (not both simultaneously) the advantage over Sky Plus is the external hard drive is a USB device. Meaning that not only can you add additional drives if you like to keep lots of recordings but you can also transfer your recordings to other media, example your PC. Perfect for teachers who use language recordings as part of their teaching methods.
Please note: The HD+ set top box does not have a built in RF modulator. This means the set top box can only be attached to one TV. If however you would like to distribute pictures to more than one TV you will need to purchase an external RF modulator.
