PROCEPTION 4 Way UHF Masthead

This versatile amplifier has two modes of operation, allowing it to be used either as a four-way ‘aerial amplifier’ for off-air signal distribution, or as a ‘return-path amplifier’ for distribution of the UHF loop-through output of a Sky receiver.
In return-path mode full support is provided for remote infrared receivers (‘eyes’).

Features:

Dual-mode low-noise amplifier with automatic mode selection
Excellent input filtering below 470 MHz to reduce the risk of interference problems from CB, PMR, TETRA, etc.
High output capability
Robust fully-screened amplifier module with corrosion resistant finish
Well-proven discreet moulded housing which cannot trap water. Mast or wall mounting
‘F’ connectors for reliable connection and high screening integrity
Ideal for both digital and analogue applications – ready for the all-digital future
Aerial-amplifier mode:

Ideal for the multi-digital household where Sky remote control is not used
Mode automatically selected by powering the amplifier on any output
5 to 12 V power supply range allows powering from DVB-T receivers with 5 V ‘antenna power’ capability, or traditional 12 V power units
No ‘eye power’ is present on the outputs in this mode
Return-path amplifier stage is disabled in this mode
Return-path mode:

This mode allows distribution of the analogue output channel of a Sky receiver, with remote control of the Sky receiver
Mode automatically selected by powering the amplifier via its input (9 V)
‘Eye power’ pass-through to each output (s/c protected)
Signal frequency range: 470 .. 862 MHz 5 .. 10 MHz (Return path when active*)
Gain: 4.5 dB (Forward path), 3 dB (Return path when active*)
Noise figure typical and (max.): 2.8 (3.2) dB (Forward path)
Output capability**: 88 dBuV (Forward path)
Max. recommended input level**: 84 dBuV (Forward path)
Isolation between outputs: >/= 16 dB (Forward path)
Input filter characteristic***: >/= 26 dB rejection (f >/= 400 MHz) (Forward path)
DC power requirement: 5 .. 12 V at 20 mA (aerial-amplifier mode) (Forward path), 9 V at 35 mA**** (return-path mode)
Signal connector type: Type-F (IEC 60169-24)
Operating temperature range: -20 .. +40 °C
EMC standard: BS EN 50083-2:2001

Notes:
*. Return-path mode is active only when the amplifier is powered via its input.
**. Signal handling capability is given for TV channels plus up to 6 DTT multiplexes at ***. Relative to passband gain.
****. Excludes current drawn by remote IR receivers. (The 75 mA available from a Sky receiver will power a 4-way system with four eyes).
